Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pick a Pattern (the "Service"), provided by Mike Mills, trading as Pick a Pattern ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader based in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service does
Pick a Pattern lets you design custom packaging box templates ("dielines") by choosing a box style and dimensions. Preset sizes are available to download free of charge. Custom dimensions can be unlocked with a one-time payment, processed securely by Stripe.
2. Payment
Prices are shown in GBP at checkout before you pay. Payment is a one-time charge per unlocked custom size — there is no subscription or recurring billing in the current version of the Service. Card payments are processed entirely by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details.
3. Your use of downloaded files
Once unlocked or downloaded, you're free to use the generated dieline files for your own personal or commercial packaging production, without further payment or attribution.
You are responsible for checking that a downloaded file is correct for your intended use — including dimensions, material thickness, and compatibility with your printer or cutting equipment — before committing it to production. We provide the file as a design aid; we do not manufacture, print, or cut anything on your behalf.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to bypass the payment/unlock mechanism to access custom sizes without paying.
- Don't scrape, automate, or resell access to the Service itself (the tool). Reselling products you make using a downloaded dieline is fine — that's what the Service is for.
- Don't use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided on an "as is" basis, currently in beta. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for every specific manufacturing process. Because dieline geometry depends on the dimensions you enter, always double-check a generated file before large production runs.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as wasted materials, printing costs, or lost business) arising from use of a downloaded file. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
7. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time, including adding new box types, pricing changes, or new features. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
